Features

A tracker that finishes the job

Clockd covers the whole path from the moment you start working to the moment a client receives the bill. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Mobile time tracking

Two-tap timer

Pick a project, hit start. The timer survives app restarts, phone reboots and losing signal, because the entry is written locally first and synced afterwards.

One timer at a time

Starting a second timer stops the first. Two concurrent timers make elapsed time ambiguous, and ambiguous time turns into double-billed hours.

Retroactive entries

Forgot to track this morning? Add the block after the fact from either device. Nothing about the model assumes you remembered.

The desktop calendar

Phones are good at starting timers and bad at fixing a week's worth of them. The web app gives you a calendar built for editing.

Drag to create, move and resize

Drag on empty space to create an entry, drag the body to move it, drag an edge to change its length. Everything snaps to 15-minute increments.

Keyboard-first, not drag-only

Every action a mouse can do is reachable from the keyboard. A calendar you can only operate by dragging excludes people who cannot drag.

Day, week and month views

Overlapping entries lay out side by side instead of hiding each other, and the view you are looking at lives in the URL, so you can bookmark or share a specific week.

Live sync with your phone

Start a timer on mobile and the running block appears on the desktop calendar within seconds. Edit on desktop and it lands on your phone just as fast.

Clients and projects

Rates that cascade

Set a default rate on your account, override it per client, then per project where a particular engagement is priced differently.

Rates are snapshotted

Each entry records the rate that applied when the work was done. Raising your rate in March never quietly rewrites what February was worth.

Billable and non-billable

Track internal admin alongside client work. Non-billable projects stay out of invoices but still show up in your totals, so you can see what your unpaid overhead actually costs.

Colour-coded, archivable

Each project gets a colour that carries through the calendar. Finished engagements archive out of the pickers without deleting their history.

Invoice templates and automation

Template editor with live preview

Logo, accent colour, visible columns, tax rows, payment terms and footer. The preview renders with the same code that renders the real invoice, so it cannot mislead you.

Placeholders

Drop , or into any text field. A typo shows up verbatim in the preview rather than silently rendering blank.

Rounding you control

Exact minutes, or round to an increment you choose. Rounding applies to each project's total for the period, not to every individual entry.

Month-end automation

At 6am on the 1st — in your timezone, not ours — unbilled billable time is grouped by client, numbered from your sequence, and sent. Or prepared as drafts, if you would rather approve them.

Hosted invoice links

Clients get a link to a clean invoice page rather than an attachment. It renders properly on a phone and prints to PDF when their accounts payable team asks.

Sequential numbering

Define a format like INV-{YYYY}-{0000} and Clockd keeps the sequence gapless — which is a legal requirement in several jurisdictions.

Sync and your data

Offline-first

Entries created without a connection carry their own identity, so when they finally sync they reconcile rather than duplicate.

Device visibility

Settings shows every device on your account and when it last synced, so "did that entry make it?" has an answer.

Export any time

CSV or JSON of everything — entries, clients, projects, invoices — including after you cancel.

Stop losing an evening to invoicing

Track your hours on your phone. On the first of the month, your clients get their invoices. Free for up to three clients — no card required.
